The Life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ – A Brief Biography
🌟 Introduction – The Greatest Role Model in History
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the last and final messenger of Allah, sent as a mercy to all mankind. His life is a source of guidance, wisdom, and inspiration for Muslims worldwide. From his humble beginnings in Makkah to his prophethood, struggles, and triumphs, every aspect of his life teaches us faith, patience, and kindness.
In this brief biography, we will explore the key events of his life, his character, and the message of Islam that transformed the world.
🏡 Early Life & Childhood (570 CE – 610 CE)
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born in 570 CE in Makkah, Arabia, into the noble Quraysh tribe. His father, Abdullah, passed away before his birth, and his mother, Aminah, also passed away when he was just six years old.
Raised by his grandfather Abdul Muttalib and later by his uncle Abu Talib, young Muhammad ﷺ grew up with honesty, humility, and strong moral character. He earned the titles As-Sadiq (The Truthful) and Al-Ameen (The Trustworthy) due to his integrity.
At the age of 25, he married Khadijah (RA), a noble and wealthy businesswoman, who became his strongest supporter in his mission.
🌟 Prophethood & The Message of Islam (610 CE – 622 CE)
At the age of 40, while meditating in the Cave of Hira, Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) appeared to him and revealed the first verses of the Quran:
“Read! In the name of your Lord who created.” (Surah Al-Alaq 96:1)
This marked the beginning of his prophethood and the message of Islam—calling people to worship one God (Allah), do good deeds, and establish justice.
For 13 years in Makkah, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ faced severe opposition, persecution, and hardships. Yet, he remained patient and steadfast, spreading the message of peace, brotherhood, and faith in one God.
🕌 Migration to Madinah & The Formation of an Islamic Society (622 CE – 632 CE)
Due to increasing persecution, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his followers migrated to Madinah in 622 CE, marking the beginning of the Islamic calendar (Hijri Calendar).
In Madinah, he established:
✔ The first Islamic state based on justice and equality.
✔ The Constitution of Madinah, ensuring religious freedom and harmony.
✔ Strong bonds between Muhajirun (migrants) and Ansar (helpers).
Over the next 10 years, he led the Muslim community, spreading Islam with wisdom, kindness, and strategic leadership.
⚔️ Challenges, Battles & The Victory of Islam
Despite continuous opposition, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ displayed remarkable patience and forgiveness. Several battles, including Badr, Uhud, and Khandaq, tested the strength of the Muslim community.
In 630 CE, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his followers peacefully re-entered Makkah, marking the victory of Islam. He forgave his enemies and cleansed the Kaaba from idol worship, restoring it as the House of Allah.
By 632 CE, Islam had spread across Arabia, and the final revelation of the Quran was completed.
